Salary: This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with an hourly wage of $37.07 (2024 rate) plus an excellent benefit package.

Description:

This is an Employees-Only competition: You must be a current employee of the District of Saanich to be considered.

Requirements include completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; a minimum of one year of leadership experience including at least six months of staff supervisory experience; and program specialty certification where applicable. For this position, Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, National Lifeguard – Waterpark Option, Standard First Aid with CPR-C, and Lifesaving Instructor Award are required. Additional certifications such as National Lifeguard Instructor (NLI), First Aid Instructor (FAI), and Lifesaving Society Trainer are considered assets. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence may be required depending on assignment. Employment is subject to the provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) no older than six months, with renewal required as per policy. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work varying shifts from Sunday to Wednesday, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, for up to 17 hours per week. Hours may increase depending on seasonal demand. Although we thank all applicants for applying, only those under consideration will be contacted.
