Description:

Are you interested in embarking on a career in Public Works?  We have a great entry level opportunity which will help you gain skills, knowledge and ability in all sections of Public Works. Street Operations is seeking a temporary full-time labourer (that will revert to a call list) to perform manual work with road markings.

Requirements include Grade 10 or equivalent; valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence; annual renewal of Driver’s Abstract; valid Traffic Control Certificate; ability to read signs and road markings; and one month of previous experience and on-the-job training.

Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must possess sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit performance of heavy manual work in all types of weather.     

The successful candidates will work Monday to Friday from 4:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (up to 40 hours per week).
