The Records and Information Services Division is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable professional to join our team as an Information and Privacy Analyst. This position plays a key role in promoting privacy compliance, supporting transparency, and upholding the District’s obligations under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). We are looking for a collaborative and responsive individual who thrives in a legislative environment and can manage sensitive and complex information with discretion and care.

Reporting to the Manager of Records and Information Services, the Information and Privacy Analyst manages the end-to-end processing of formal FOI requests, ensuring compliance with timelines and legislative requirements. The role includes retrieving and reviewing responsive records, applying exceptions to disclosure, and liaising with internal departments, applicants, and external stakeholders. This position also supports the administration of privacy-related policies and procedures, conducts compliance assessments, supports responses to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC), and delivers education and training on FIPPA across the organization.

Requirements include a university degree in Public Administration, Law, Information Management, Library or Archival Studies (or related discipline) and a minimum of three years of experience in records access or information privacy in a public sector setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of FIPPA, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in word processing, databases, website tools, and Adobe Acrobat is required.
