The Finance Department, within the Financial Services Division, is seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Analyst to join our team. We are looking for a collaborative and analytical professional who will provide accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support decision-making across the organization. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for coordinating the preparation and review of departmental budgets, monitoring financial performance, and providing variance and trend analysis. The role includes conducting cost analyses, preparing long-term financial models, developing business case evaluations, and producing professional reports and presentations for management and Council. The successful candidate will also support continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements.
Requirements include A degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field with a minimum of four years of directly related experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting, preferably in a municipal or other public sector environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Strong knowledge of public sector budgeting principles and cost control methods, exceptional analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with financial systems and data analysis tools are essential for success in this role.
