Description:

This is an Expression of Interest for Employees Only:  You must be a current employee of the District of Saanich to be considered.

Hours/Location of work: Thursday, September 25th from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm at the Gorge Pavillion (1070 Tillicum Road)

Sustainability is seeking Childminders to provide childcare support at the Gorge Coastal Flood Adaptation (Gorge CFAS) Community Workshop. The Childminders will engage with children of all ages while guardians participate in the workshop. Each Childminder will be responsible for up to a maximum of 4 children.

Duties may include:

  • Providing supervision of children in a safe and organized manner
  • Preparing the room and activities necessary to support childcare
  • Facilitating activities, such as crafting and colouring
  • Distributing snacks to children with permission from guardians 
  • Cleaning up activities after the event
  • Other related duties as required

Candidates are required to have:

  • The ability to maintain patience, support and understanding with children
  • At least three months experience working with preschool children
  • Completion of Grade 10
  • 19 years of age or older
  • Basic First Aid Certification
  • Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months. Renewal of PIC-VS is required as per policy.
