Saanich Commonwealth Place Recreation Centre has an exciting career opportunity as a Building Service Worker II to perform maintenance work in the general operation and service maintenance of swimming pools and other associated buildings and equipment in our aquatic facility and community recreation centre. The Building Service Worker II – Pool performs various maintenance functions involving building maintenance and repairs, swimming pool heating and filtering equipment, custodial and cleaning tasks.

Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Pool Operators I and II Qualification; over three months and up to six months related experience; and WHMIS certification valid within 1 year. Possession of Occupational First Aid Level I is an asset. Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate(s) will work varying shifts including nights, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted. Although we thank all applicants for applying, only those under consideration will be contacted.
