Description:

As part of our team at G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre, the Building Service Worker II – Arena plays a key role in maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming spaces for our community. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the arena, including ice making and resurfacing, building and equipment maintenance, and general custodial duties that support the delivery of exceptional recreation experiences.

Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Refrigerator Operator certification (RO); over three months and up to six months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within one year; valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work varying shifts including nights, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays (base is 30 hours, and up to 37.5 hours/week). Shifts subject to change due to operational requirements.
