There are many ways to pay your property taxes. The District of Saanich encourages residents to use one of the payment methods below:

Online banking: Online banking is encouraged. You can pay through your financial institution’s online banking system. Check their local cut-off time to ensure payment is received by the due date. Please add “District of Saanich – taxes” or “Saanich Tax” as the payee and use your folio/roll number on the front of your Property Tax Notice as an account number (without the dashes). If you have purchased a new property, please ensure you update your folio/roll number with your online banking. Payment made to the wrong municipality will result in a penalty.

Drop box: There is a secure slot at the entrance of the Municipal Hall. Access this entrance off the parking lot. The drop box is available 24/7 for non-cash payments. Ensure payment is received in the drop box before midnight on July 2, 2026.

Drive-thru: Place your cheque in a sealed envelope, drive up to the tent located at the back steps to the Municipal Hall entrance, and drop off your payment with the staff member. This service will be available on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., May 25 to June 5 and June 22 to July 2, excluding July 1 due to the statutory holiday.

In person: Bring your tax notice and payment to the Municipal Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

You can pay by:

  • Cash
  • Debit: Check with your card provider to see if you have a daily limit.
  • Cheque: Make your cheque payable to District of Saanich. Dishonoured cheques constitute non-payment of taxes and will be subject to penalty, interest, and a $20.00 service charge.
  • NEW! Credit Card: You can now pay your property taxes by credit card at the Municipal Hall, or by using our Online Payment System. A 2.4% convenience fee will apply.

Visit your bank: Make sure to get proof of on-time payment (with date and time). Please contact your financial institution for hours of operation and local cut-off times.

By Mail: Mail your cheque and bottom portion of your tax notice to 770 Vernon Avenue, Victoria, BC V8X 2W7. Payment must be received by July 2, 2026 to avoid penalty. Make your cheque payable to District of Saanich.

Prepay your 2027 property taxes: Enrol in the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan to have monthly property tax payments automatically withdrawn from your bank account. If you are already enrolled in the plan, there is no need to re-apply. Prepayment interest is paid on the tax account credit balance as of April 30 each year.

Home Owner Grant
Apply for your homeowner grant with the Province online at gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or by phone at 1-888-355-2700. To avoid penalties and interest, apply before the tax due date.
