Saanich, BC – Celebrate the arrival of fall with a beautiful display of lanterns, vibrant lights and community connection at the Autumn Lantern Festival. Experience an impressive lantern loop display, local food trucks, live music and a lantern-making workshop.
Where: Gordon Head Recreation Centre and Lambrick Park
When: Saturday, September 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
This family-friendly event will feature a rich cultural program, including performances by:
- Lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers
- Amaru Cultural Association
- Soul of Vietnam
- Soca Fit
- Uminari Taiko
- Wong Sheung Kung Fu Lion Dancers
- And more!
Remember to dress up and bring a hand-made LED lantern (or make one at the event). Prizes will be awarded for the best illuminated costumes, bikes and lanterns.
Don’t forget to try some of the delicious food provided by local restaurants! The following food trucks will be open at the event:

Getting There
We encourage residents to access the event by bike or by taking transit. The Locker bike valet will be onsite and free to use. Parking nearby is limited and we remind all attendees to respect local neighbourhood parking bylaws.
