Celebrate our planet during the Earth Day Festival

April 9, 2026

Saanich, BC – Celebrate Earth Day and explore everyday ways you can lessen your impact on the planet at the Saanich Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 18.

The Earth Day Festival celebrates sustainability in our community. In 2026, our theme is Reuse, Share, Repair, and will focus on simple ways we can divert waste from landfill by reusing things in new ways, sharing with neighbours, and repairing them when possible.

Check out the free family activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Saanich Municipal Hall parking lot just off the Lochside Regional Trail. Consider coming by bike or public transit for Earth Day!

The event will feature live music, vendors, a food truck with a plant-based menu, free activities and interactive elements like a kids’ bike obstacle course.

In addition to Saanich departmental displays, many partner organizations will have interactive information booths and items for sale on display at the festival. From urban farming and environmental conservation groups to sustainable body care products and e-bikes, there will be something for everyone.

Come say hello to Curby, the little sweeper with a big job to do — clearing bike lanes where larger sweepers can’t. Staff will be available to talk about Curby’s valuable work and answer your questions.
