Celebrate Family Day at Saanich’s Family Arts Festival

Saanich, BC – This Family Day, join the District of Saanich at the Family Arts Festival, held at the Cedar Hill Recreation and Arts Centre.
This fun-filled, free family event is a celebration of imagination, creativity and discovery. Kids of all ages will explore a wide variety of activities led by Arts Centre staff and guest instructors from the region’s arts and culture community, as well as watch and listen to an array of live performances.
Participants can also try clay hand-building in the ceramics studio, quilting, sketching, storytelling, playing with robotics, testing out instruments, and getting creative with a variety of other arts and crafts activities. With so many activity options, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Live music and cultural performances by local groups will take place throughout the day. These kid-friendly shows will feature a magic show by Jordano the Great of Tricky Magic, a cultural fashion show featuring local models, and a puppet performance by Brian Cook.
Facepainting will be available with a range of designs and price points to choose from.
The Cridge Centre’s Second Chance Café inside the Cedar Hill Recreation and Arts Centre will be serving hot food and snacks for purchase throughout the day.

Admission: Free!
Getting Here: Overflow parking for the event can be found in the gravel lot off Finlayson, as well as at Doncaster Elementary. There are bike racks at the facility and the #24 bus runs past the centre on Cedar Hill Road.
