Saanich, BC – The 58th annual Saanich Strawberry Festival is returning Sunday, July 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Beaver Lake Park! Admission to this festival is free and all residents and community members are welcome.

“Strawberry Fest is my absolute favourite event of the year. I know it’s a favourite for a lot of folks in our community as well. I encourage everyone to come enjoy the live music, festivities, and a sweet summer treat with family and friends,” says Saanich Mayor Dean Murdock.

This event celebrates local agriculture and strawberries through a day filled with live music, kids’ activities, bouncy castles, information booths, and arts and crafts stations. Come enjoy performances from local musicians and performers, and explore a variety of booths featuring local artisans, food vendors, and community organizations. Pick up an Event Passport at any of the Saanich booths, and enter to win one of five 10x Recreation Drop In Passes by visiting as many of the passport activities as possible.

Highlighting the event is our locally sourced Michell’s Farm strawberries and Island Farms ice cream! Indulge in the festival’s traditional snack at $2 per serving, served from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A limited quantity of Cold Comfort vegan ‘nice cream’ will also be available.

This year marks the introduction of reusable metal bowls for the strawberry and ice cream servings, to reduce the use of thousands of disposable alternatives.

Getting There

In addition to the limited Beaver Lake parking lot space, overflow parking will be available at the large grass area that runs alongside Elk Lake Drive. Extra overflow parking will also be available at Saanich Commonwealth Place (SCP), where a shuttle bus will be running from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shuttle will pick up guests near the main entrance roundabout at SCP, and then will stop at the grass overflow lot, and will drop attendees off at the Beaver Beach main parking lot.

We encourage residents and attendees to access the event by bike or by taking public transit to Royal Oak Transit Exchange and then catching the shuttle at Commonwealth Pool. Capital Bike’s The Locker valet will be onsite from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with secure bicycle storage as well.
