Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich is excited to announce a major update in our ongoing commitment to modernize and streamline services to the community. The residential building permit process will be optimized through the launch of five new digital submission portals:  

• New Build
• Addition
• Renovation
• Demolition
• Other (Accessory Building, Swimming Pool/Fence, Retaining Wall)

Also, accessible directly through saanich.ca/residentialpermits.

These are significant milestones in a series of planned online application services updates launching in 2025. This shift eliminates paper-based applications, making processes more convenient, reliable and efficient.

The District is committed to simplifying the permitting process for residents and developers by removing application barriers and creating a seamless online application and payment experience.
