Saanich, BC – Following a trio of walking tours and seven pop-up events in May, engagement events for the month of June will kick-off with a primer webinar and three community engagement workshops to collaborate with people about the potential directions for the Tillicum Burnside Plan.

A comprehensive Centre, Corridor and Village (CCV) Plan for the Tillicum Burnside area will guide future changes over the short, medium and long term to build a livable, vibrant and transit-connected community. Join the conversation as we explore opportunities to introduce more housing options; provide amenities and safe connections; and design corridors to support sustainable transportation.

Your feedback is important and the information we gather will be considered as the Draft Tillicum Burnside Plan is developed. Child-minding and refreshments will be provided on-site at each community workshop.

Public Engagement Opportunities

Community engagement and participation is an important part of the planning process which aims to be inclusive and reach a broad spectrum of the community. Engagement activities include a mix of formats, schedules and locations to support equity and accessibility. You are welcome to attend as many sessions as you like!

 Community Workshops

• Transportation and Mobility - Saturday, June 14, 12:30pm-3:30pm
• Land Use - Sunday, June 22, 12:30pm-3:30pm
• Villages, Public Realm and Open Spaces - Tuesday, June 24, 5:30pm-8:00pm

All workshops will be located at the Tillicum Centre, in a storefront located through the entrance near Winners. Registration for all events is open at hello.saanich.ca. Your feedback is important to us, and the information we gather will be considered as the Draft Tillicum Burnside Plan is developed.

Next Steps

A second round of public engagement will be launched this fall, and a draft Tillicum Burnside Plan will be presented to the public for review and feedback in early 2026. A proposed TBP will be presented for Council’s consideration in late Spring 2026.
