July 24, 2025
Information Bulletin
For immediate release
Saanich, BC – Crews are preparing to replace a culvert on Prospect Lake Road that will require a temporary road closure to all vehicles from August 18 to September 12.
The four-week closure will be in effect for approximately 200 metres of the road (4385 to 4433 Prospect Lake Road) and will result in a significant detour – it takes approximately twenty-five minutes of driving time to complete the full detour route.
Detour and additional information:
Residents are advised to plan travel accordingly and use Interurban Road, Helmcken Road and Burnside Road West during construction.
The District recognizes the temporary inconvenience to residents, road users and businesses and appreciates the cooperation of residents while we improve the infrastructure in our community with this necessary work.
Orange signage will be placed at seven locations surrounding Prospect Lake Road to mark the upcoming closure dates. Please follow all signage and directions in the area. There is limited space for vehicles to turn around and course correct.
Why are we doing this?
The Prospect Lake Road Culvert Replacement will improve drainage along the roadway by removing the existing culvert for Trevlac Brook, installing a new, larger culvert and restoring the road.
