Information Bulletin
For immediate release
Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich is announcing an important adjustment to the start time of Council meetings, Committee of the Whole meetings and Public Hearings. Effective immediately, these meetings will commence at 6:30 p.m., a shift from the previous 7:00 p.m. start. Public Input on applicable business items will occur closer to the start of the meeting agenda and meetings will adjourn at 10:00 p.m. unless extended by Council.
This change is part of a continued effort to foster greater public participation in accordance with goals laid out in the District’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan. These goals are aimed at increasing public engagement and ensuring that our residents have greater opportunities to participate in decision-making processes.
The change will facilitate more accessible and convenient attendance for residents, thereby encouraging a broader spectrum of community insights and involvement without altering the established meeting format.
The first meeting under this new schedule will take place on Monday, October 20th, and we welcome all community members to join us.
