What’s new?
Key revisions have been made to the plan that respond to previous public input, as well as the direction provided by Saanich Council. They include:

  • Reducing the intensity of land use designations by:
    • Reducing the number of properties designated as Corridor (6-storeys), primarily in Quadra North;
    • Scaling back building heights and the area covered by Corridor Hubs; and
    • Re-designating more parcels as Urban Townhome and Apartment (3 to 4-storeys).
  • Removing design concepts for vehicle travel lanes on McKenzie Avenue, to be considered separately through a future process in collaboration with BC Transit.

The input received in this additional round of public engagement will be considered and may inform some further refinements to the plan.
