Saanich, BC – After hearing from community sports groups, school districts and other municipalities in the region, the District of Saanich is inviting the broader community to learn more about its draft Outdoor Sports Field Strategy at a virtual open house and prepare to provide feedback through an online questionnaire.

As Saanich continues to grow, there is a need to plan for the future to ensure the District can continue to meet the needs of groups who are supporting local sport. The Strategy is intended to guide future planning, management and investment in outdoor sports fields and lacrosse boxes and help Saanich support local sports groups now and into the future.

What’s next?
Saanich residents and sports groups are invited to our upcoming virtual open house, which will guide attendees through the draft Strategy and its recommendations and allow for questions.

• It takes place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
• For more details and to register, please visit Saanich.ca/OSFS. The virtual open house will be delivered via Eventbrite and the meeting link will be provided to participants after you register.

The LEES + Associates consulting team is also preparing a Discussion Guide which will accompany the draft Strategy and help you understand it. Both documents will be posted to Saanich.ca/OSFS in advance of the virtual open house. An online questionnaire will also be launched on HelloSaanich to gather feedback, running from October 22, 2025 to November 22, 2025.
