Saanich’s Remembrance Day ceremony broadcast on Facebook Live

Saanich, BC – Saanich’s 2021 Remembrance Day ceremony is closed to the public due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, there’s still an opportunity to watch the event via Facebook Live.

“It’s important we take time to reflect and remember those who lost their lives for our freedom,” said Mayor Fred Haynes. “Please join us online on November 11 to remember and recognize the sacrifices of these brave Canadians.”

There will be a limited number of wreathes presented, but otherwise, the ceremony will be similar to previous years except without an audience. Groups that would like to lay a wreath will have a designated time following the ceremony. If your organization would like to lay a wreath, please contact the event coordinator Rob Phillips.

Watch the livestream

Visit Saanich’s Facebook page at facebook.com/Saanich.BC at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, November 11 to watch a live feed of the ceremony.
