Liquor licence changes at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre

July 15, 2020

Liquor licence changes at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre

Currently, the District of Saanich holds two licences for the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre: a Liquor Primary Licence for the Gallery Café lounge area; and a Food Primary Licence for six designated areas (Squash Courts, Gallery Café, Patio, Senior’s Wing, Auditorium and Dance Studio).

Saanich has applied to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch to consolidate both licences into one Liquor Primary Licence for four designated areas (Gallery Café, Patio, Tennis Viewing Area and Squash Courts) of the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre. This change will eliminate the need for a Food Primary Licence and will bring our licences up to date with current regulations.

Service delivery

The hours of service will not change. The change at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre will reduce the current licenced areas and reduce the maximum occupant load from 570 to 174. Unaccompanied minors will be allowed in licenced areas until 10 p.m. or for the duration of a private event.
