Saanich celebrates Tree Appreciation Day

Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich will celebrate Tree Appreciation Day with a public tree planting event at King Alfred Park November 2. The event encourages residents to improve their natural intelligence and enhance Saanich’s urban forests.

Saanich Parks staff alongside scouts, students and other passionate volunteers will plant more than 25 shade trees in the park. A couple hundred native shrubs and trees will also be planted in two restoration areas to enhance bee, butterfly and bird habitats.
