Tolmie Park closing while improvements underway

June 23, 2016

News Release
For Immediate Release

Saanich, BC – Tolmie Park is undergoing several upgrades that will benefit residents of all ages. These changes are a result of public feedback and community consultation. The park, located on Leslie Drive, will be closed as of June 20, 2016, through late October while work takes place. This park closure will allow our teams to focus on all the improvements taking place, including:

  • One tennis court converted for pickleball play
  • New playground and youth area
  • Larger sport court
  • Walkway improvements
  • Drainage upgrades
  • Landscaping

The construction will involve some machinery and truck movement on Leslie Drive. We expect any disruptions to be minor and we thank those affected neighbours for their patience and understanding as we work to improve the park for the benefit of local residents. Please use Darwin and Dunn Avenues as alternate routes.

There are other nearby parks with a playground within a 10 to 15 minute walk of Tolmie Park. These include Playfair Park, Rutledge Park, Leeds Park and Rainbow Park.
