Mezzanine Gallery Wall
Michelle Steadman – Solo Exhibit
About the Artwork:
This exhibit is representative of my years on Vancouver Island. Every piece is from a happy moment in time; many spent with loved ones who are very dear to me. Painting these works shows my appreciation of all the beauty our little island offers.
About the Artist:
Michelle Steadman, a local artist, continues the tradition of her father and mentor John David Whitehead, one of the co-founders of the Moss Street Art Gallery. This is where she took her first art class as a child and fell in love with it. She has been painting ever since. Her medium of choice is oil, and she finds inspiration in capturing the beauty of Vancouver Island in her works.

About the Artwork / Artist:
I am drawn to mixed media and my work usually involves collage. I am currently working with acrylic paints and other water-soluble products, but I utilize ink, graphite, and permanent markers as well. I also work in oil from time to time.
Much of my art work would be described as abstract collage, but I also love to create portraits. I love to work with paper and also make cards and produce journals
