Saanich launched its draft Accessibility Plan [PDF - 441 KB] in September to outline our ongoing efforts to improve access to our facilities, programs, services, and employment opportunities and we want to hear from you!

Feedback can be provided by emailing AccessibilityFeedback@Saanich.ca or by attending one of our upcoming in-person or virtual focus groups!

If you have feedback specific to programs or services provided by the Saanich Police Department, please provide your feedback directly to accessibility@saanichpolice.ca

At the focus groups we hope to gain community feedback about ways in which we can remove barriers that persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups face.

 Focus group dates:

  • In person session:
    • SCP, Douglas Fir Room - October 11th, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
  • Virtual sessions:
    • October 5th, 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
    • October 18th, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

To register, email AccessibilityFeedback@Saanich.ca with your preferred session, number of attendees and any accessibility requirements within your party.

About the Accessibility Plan

The District of Saanich’s Accessibility Plan outlines how the district will continue its efforts to improve accessibility awareness and the accessibility of our facilities, programs, services, communications and employment opportunities..

The plan builds on our current accessibility achievements to date and has been created to meet the legislated requirements of the Accessible B.C. Act that came into effect in June 2021. This first draft of the plan has been created based on consultation from the District of Saanich Accessibility, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, and members of various departments within the District of Saanich.
