Saanich Road closure March 14 to April 1

Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich will replace the traffic signal poles at the intersection of McKenzie Avenue and Saanich Road, which requires a closure to complete the work. The closures will be in place 24 hours per day and run from Monday, March 14 to Friday, April 1, 2022.

The existing traffic signals will be removed to make space for the new electrical equipment and infrastructure upgrades. The sidewalks and roadway will be reinstated after the signal installations.

Pedestrians can use adjacent crosswalks at Nelthorpe Street or Quadra Street. Transit will detour on Vernon Avenue to the Pat Bay Highway to McKenzie Avenue. Please see BC Transit’s website at bctransit.com for further information and plan your route accordingly.

McKenzie Avenue will be allowed continuous through traffic throughout the project. Lane closures may be in effect at times during the construction period.
