Cordova Bay Local Area Plan upcoming in-person open houses

Saanich, BC – A series of in-person open houses have been scheduled to provide an opportunity for the public to learn about, and provide feedback on, the Draft Cordova Bay Local Area Plan. The in-person open houses follow a virtual open house which has been available online since July 2020.

The Draft Cordova Bay Local Area Plan has been developed with input from the community to manage land use and guide change in Cordova Bay over the next 20 to 30 years.

In order to maintain safe numbers, and keeping with COVID-19 protocols, you are asked to register using Saanich Recreation’s online registration system. You will be registering to attend during a one-hour time slot and a maximum of 10 people can attend during any one-hour period. Details on this procedure can be found at saanich.ca/cordova.

All information available at the open houses can also be accessed on-line at saanich.ca/cordova, including the Draft Plan, the virtual open house and a community survey.

“Cordova Bay residents have been engaged and heard throughout this process,” said Mayor Fred Haynes. “Through the public consultation to date, together we have created a robust plan, looking at areas of mobility to sustainability, land use to transportation and parks to economic vibrancy. We look forward to hearing feedback from community members on this document that will guide us in the years to come."
