Saanich, BC – Advance voter turnout totalled 6,941 in the District of Saanich following three days of advance voting opportunities at five different locations.

Advance voting opportunities were held October 10, 15 and 17. A similar advance voting schedule was offered in 2014 with a total of 4,269 residents casting their vote prior to the general local election day.

“We’re really pleased to see an increase from our 2014 advance voter turnout,” said Chief Election Officer Angila Bains. “I encourage all of the eligible voters in Saanich who haven’t yet voted to head to a polling station on Saturday. Don’t miss your opportunity to make your voice heard.”

On Saturday, October 20, there will be 17 polling stations across Saanich to make voting as accessible and efficient as possible. Voting location information is available at saanich.ca/election.

In Saanich’s 2014 general local election the total voter turnout was 34.7 per cent.
