Public input sought for Cordova Bay Local Area Plan update

April 23, 2018

Information bulletin
For immediate release

Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich is updating the Cordova Bay Local Area Plan and residents are invited to participate by attending an open house and completing an online survey. The updated local area plan will guide planning and land use decisions in the community over the next 20 to 30 years.

Local area plans are neighbourhood plans that are developed with extensive consultation with community members. As directed by Council in September 2017, Saanich has initiated the update of all 12 local area plans. Each plan update will include various public input opportunities and take approximately 18 months to complete. The first two local area plans to be updated are the Cordova Bay and Cadboro Bay Local Area Plans. The updated local area plans will help provide direction for growth and change in neighbourhoods and implement the directions of the Official Community Plan.

Open houses

The public is invited to attend informal, drop-in community visioning open houses for the Cordova Bay Local Area Plan update. Both open houses will be identical. Attendees will learn about the existing plan and can provide input on a vision for Cordova Bay, along with issues, opportunities and priorities to address in the updated plan.
