Election day: Saturday, October 17
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, eligible voters will
cast their ballots to elect:
- One (1) Mayor
- Eight (8) Councillors
- Two (2) School District 63 Trustees
- Two (2) School District 61 Trustees
- One (1) Public Opinion Question (non-binding)

The District of Saanich uses the most current list of registered electors prepared by Elections BC.

If you're not on the Voters List, no problem—you can register when you vote at any Advance Voting Opportunity or on General Voting Day. Please ensure you have the appropriate identification.
Accessible Voting Options
We're committed to making voting accessible to all by providing:
- Mail Ballots - You can request a mail ballot so that you can vote in your own home at your convenience.
- Curbside Voting - When you attend to vote either at Advance Voting or on General Voting Day, notify an Election Official who will bring the ballot to your vehicle.
- Personal Assistance - Assistance can be requested from an Election Official, or you may be accompanied by another person to assist you with voting.

Candidates
The candidate nomination period begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 and ends at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026. Nomination packages are now available for District of Saanich candidates for the officers of Mayor, Councillor, and 63 (Saanich) School Trustee.
Packages can be picked up at the Legislative Services Division, Saanich Municipal Hall, 770 Vernon Avenue during regular business hours. An electronic copy can also be provided upon request by emailing elections@saanich.ca.
Nomination packages and other information for School District 61 (Greater Victoria) School Trustee candidates are available through the School District's website.
