Share your program idea with Saanich Recreation

Do you have a class, workshop or activity you’d like to offer through Saanich Recreation?

We welcome proposals from qualified instructors, coaches, artists, wellness professionals, businesses, non-profits and community partners who want to offer engaging recreation opportunities for the community.

Use the Propose a Program Submission Form  to tell us about your program idea, your experience and any space or equipment needs. Our programming team will review your submission and contact you if your proposal is being considered for a future season.

Before you submit

To help us review your proposal, please be ready to share:

  • A brief description of your program
  • The intended age group or audience
  • Your teaching, coaching or facilitation experience
  • Your preferred schedule, format and class length
  • Participant minimums and maximums
  • Fees and any supply costs
  • Space, equipment or setup requirements

If you are applying as a business or organization, you can also include business details such as your business licence, GST number and WorkSafeBC information, if applicable.

Who can apply

We welcome submissions from:

  • Individual instructors
  • Community organizations
  • Businesses
  • Non-profit groups
  • Other qualified program providers

We welcome both new and experienced applicants.

What we look for

We are most interested in proposals that:

  • Support community interest and participation
  • Offer a clear benefit or experience for participants
  • Are appropriate for the intended age group or audience
  • Are led by qualified instructors or organizations
  • Are safe, practical and suitable for our available spaces
  • Complement existing Saanich Recreation programming

Examples may include:

  • Fitness and active living
  • Sports skill development
  • Visual or performing arts
  • Wellness and mindfulness
  • Educational or general interest workshops
  • Family, child, youth, adult or older adult programs

What happens next

After you submit your proposal:

  1. Our programming team reviews the information provided.
  2. We may contact you for additional details or clarification.
  3. If there is a fit, we will discuss next steps, scheduling and facility requirements.

Please note that submitting a proposal does not guarantee that a program will be offered. Proposals are reviewed based on factors such as community interest, program needs, facility availability and seasonal planning timelines.
