Forest Edge, by Rick Silas

Drawing of a ForestRick Silas’s etched glass separates the arts studios from the public hallway at the Arts Centre at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre. The large glass wall panels show a forest scene with local native vegetation. This work compliments the building’s open-viewable concept designed by Hughes Condon Marler Architects. The open concept and Rick Silas’s glass etching art promotes and inspires more people to take part in arts activities.

Rick Silas created his public art right at the Arts Centre. He is a local glass artist with 25 years of experience and many projects installed throughout Canada. Rick enjoys working with contemporary materials and has extensive experience working with glass as an art medium. Visit his web site www.coldbentglass.com for more.
