GHRC Construction Project: February 11 2021 and expected completion July 2021
Saanich is undertaking a construction project at Gordon Head Recreation Centre to provide new pool equipment storage space on the south side of the facility, as well as a lightly expanded administration area on the north side of the facility.
Why are we doing this?
Due to aging infrastructure, new secure pool equipment storage space is required to be able to continue to provide safe and reliable service for the swimming pool. Similarly, expanded and upgraded administrative space is required to better meet the needs of providing recreational services to the community.
Construction Impacts
Minor disruptions to programming services provided by Gordon Head Recreation Centre may occur. Construction is expected to occur during daytime hours. The public pathway to the south of the facility will be closed for the duration of construction for public safety, and a small number of parking stalls in the north parking lot will be closed to accommodate construction. Construction fencing will enclose all construction zones with safety signage prominently posted. Foot traffic in the north parking lot will be directed to use designated, safe pathways to access the facility where construction fencing is erected.
