We want to hear your stories! Tell us about your experiences in the Gold Rink here at G.R.Pearkes Recreation Centre. 
Did you grow up playing minor hockey and attending 5:00 a.m. practices? 
Did you meet your special someone during a Friday Night Skate? 
Did you use to be a Rink Rat on one of the many drop in skates over the years?  

Whatever your story, we want to hear it. Enter the contest and share your story! Contest details

 Prizes*:

    • 1  - $100 Gift Certificate to the Saanich Recreation Facilities (Saanich Commonwealth Place, Cedar Hill Recreation Centre, Gordon Head Recreation Centre, Cedar Hill Golf Course, G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre)
    • 5  - 10x passes

    Did you know? 

  • The Gold Arena and the original George R. Pearkes Arena opened in 1968
  • George R. Pearkes is a decorated First World War Officer, a commanding officer in the Second World War, Member of the BC Legislature for Saanich, Federal Cabinet Minister in the 1950s, Lieutenant Governor of BC from 1960-1967 and Freeman of Saanich, Pearkes was one of the Municipality's most dedicated and distinguished citizens.
