Under the general direction of a Recreation Programmer, the Youth Leader II will provide leadership in planning, supervision and evaluation of summer programs within the specific section (either Cedar Hill Recreation Centre, or Community Services). Successful candidates will be responsible for the overall operation of programs including staff training and supervising, equipment and supplies, program planning, facility scheduling and logistics and other details as needed to ensure a high quality program. 

1 position – Cedar Hill Recreation Centre
Primary responsibility includes day camps in racquet and general sports as well as visual arts, performing arts and pottery camps. Some work with other programs or activities may be required.

1 position – Community Services (Saanich Neighbourhood Playground Program)
Primary responsibility includes planning and supervision of 7 park sites as part of the Saanich Neighbourhood Playground Program (SNPP).

Requirements include completion of Grade 12; experience in administration of recreational programs; six months experience working in a recreation day-camp setting; demonstrated program planning experience; supervisory experience in related field; Emergency First-Aid and CPR-Level C; a satisfactory police information check and a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License. 

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, including some evenings and weekends, up to 40 hours per week.
