Gordon Head Recreation Centre is seeking an Aquatic Team Leader to provide direction and support to lifeguard staff and may assist in the provision of instructional or recreation programs. The successful incumbent will ensure that on duty staff are working effectively, the program is operating safely, and the facility is properly prepared for the enjoyment and satisfaction of all patrons. The Team Leader will be the lead hand in the event of any emergency situation.
Requirements include: completion of Grade 12; minimum two years lifeguarding including two years of teaching experience; current National Lifeguard (NL) Pool Certification; Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification; current (within one year) CPR Certification – Level C; current Standard First Aid; OFA Level 1 and satisfactory police information check with vulnerable sector check. Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer Certification is an asset.
The successful candidate will work varying shifts including early mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends, minimum 17.5 hours per week (hours/shifts are subject to change).
