Description:

The District of Saanich is seeking two Systems Analyst III - Team Leads to join our rapidly evolving IT Operations infrastructure team. The key roles and responsibilities as the senior IT technical expert are to support the day to day operations of Saanich’s hosting environments, including security, network and telephony services. You will execute complex district wide operational duties and bring your passion for technology and leadership that are critical to the organization. 

The successful candidate will supervise a team of specialists that will be managing servers, databases, virtualization hosting, monitoring and reporting, backups and disaster recovery planning. You will be responsible for hardware installation, monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning while ensuring high levels of availability. 

Requirements include: University Degree in the field of Computer Sciences, Information Technology or related discipline with six years of recent experience in related roles including two years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment and possession of a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License. Possession of current industry certifications on Vmware, Windows, Red Hat, networking and ITIL certification would be an asset. 

Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday, 7 hours per day between 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (35 hours per week).
