Under the general direction of the Administrative Supervisor, the Recreation Clerk – Pro Shop is responsible for clerical, keyboarding, basic accounting, inventory control and customer service work. Tasks include, but are not restricted to, balancing and reconciling daily shift deposits; maintaining related filing and monthly statistical reports; using computerized inventory system; purchasing, receiving and merchandising inventory for the pro shop; programming the inventory system and cash registers. In addition to providing excellent customer service, suitable applicants must have knowledge of promotion and merchandising for retail purposes and have the ability to make arithmetic computations accurately with reasonable speed.
Requirements include: completion of Grade 12 or equivalent including courses in office practices, word processing, graphics and keyboarding (minimum of 50 wpm); up to six month’s experience in an office environment including working in a customer service capacity and satisfactory police information check.
The successful candidate will be required to work varying shfits including evenings and weekends (hours/shifts are subject to change).
