The Street Operations - Roads Section is seeking multiple Maintenance Workers who will be responsible for completing a variety of road maintenance and construction activities. These temporary assignments are expected to be 12 months in duration. Following the completion of the temporary assignment, staff will revert to their base position of Labourer and may be called for future work assignments as needed to fulfil operational requirements.

Requirements for Maintenance Worker I include Grade 11 or equivalent; minimum of six months experience in Roads Construction and/or maintenance; a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s Licence; a valid Traffic Control Certificate; possession of or ability to obtain a Municipal Pavement Maintenance Certification or equivalent and sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit performance of heavy manual work in all weather conditions. 

The successful candidates will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and will be expected to work overtime when required.
