We are looking for a Fleet Service Person to join our dynamic team.  The successful candidate will work with our team of Certified Mechanics that consists of technicians with great personalities, talented repair skills, and a high degree of pride in their workmanship.  It is this group of dedicated people who keep our 250 pieces of equipment reliable and safe.

The Fleet Service Person will assist the Certified Mechanics in servicing and maintaining Saanich’s fleet of cars, trucks, and equipment by performing preventative maintenance on light duty vehicles, cleaning and lubricating heavy trucks and equipment, shuttling vehicles to external service shops for warranty or service work, and other related work as required.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of WCB regulations, WHMIS and the Motor Vehicle Act as well as comprehension of the rules of safe operation required when driving and parking a variety of trucks, vehicles and heavy or light equipment. The successful candidate will also have knowledge of methods and practices used in servicing and maintaining equipment.

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; valid Class 3 BC Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement; fork lift certification; one year of experience performing vehicle service and minor maintenance tasks in a shop environment.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. and will work in all types of weather conditions.
