The Transportation and Development Services Division oversees the design and installation of municipal-owned and 3rd party infrastructure within municipal rights-of-way. Working under the direction of a senior technician, the Engineering Technician II performs technical work related to municipal engineering. Duties include reviewing and responding to inquiries received from the public, reviewing and approving development-related permits, reviewing design drawings and constructed works, and providing technical support to senior staff.
Requirements include a two year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution; three months of related experience; eligible for registration with the Applied Science Technologies and Technicians of BC; conversant with computer based engineering applications and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with a personal vehicle available for use as and when required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week).
