The Water Resources Division is seeking a personable, solutions-oriented team player as the new Engineering GIS Analyst. The successful candidate will help develop, maintain and expand a municipal-wide GIS enterprise database. The Engineering GIS Analyst performs technical work including designing, developing and maintaining departmental asset data for civic infrastructure above ground and underground. They also provide technical support requiring support to a growing number of municipal GIS users through tutorials and maintaining user manuals. The successful candidate will analyze data to produce maps, statistics and prepare technical documents such as procedural guidelines, project plans, manuals and meta data.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of GIS principles, standards, and methods; be proficient with desktop, mobile and web GIS applications; GIS data compilation, versioned editing, and quality control.

Requirements include: A Degree in Geography, Computer Science or related discipline with an emphasis on GIS; five years of experience in the GIS field using ESRI products; three months of field capture experience and a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence. GISP (GIS Professional) certification is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the office with occasional work outside.
