Description:

The District of Saanich is the largest municipality on Vancouver Island blending rural and urban services and amenities for a diverse population of over 114,000.  The District’s goals related to community well-being, affordable housing, land use and infrastructure management, organizational excellence, economic diversification, climate action and environmental leadership support its mission of enhancing the quality of life for residents, visitors and future generations.   

We are seeking an accomplished and passionate leader to join us as the Director of Finance. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, this executive role is responsible for accounting, financial planning, financial ERP systems, payroll, purchasing services, property taxation and utility billing services for the Municipality. The Director is also responsible for fulfilling statutory duties as finance officer.

As the Director, you will be the chief advisor on all financial matters to the CAO, Council, Boards and Committees and may be required to fulfill the duties of Collector. You will serve as part of the senior leadership team jointly responsible for inter-departmental collaboration, corporate policy development and strategy, and implementation of the annual corporate strategic plans.
