The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced journeyman electrician for trades work in the Waterworks Section of Public Works. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of traffic signals, streetlights, phone and data lines, sewer pump and water distribution stations, electrical components of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisitions) systems, and municipal buildings and capital work. This successful candidate with direct the work of apprentices and others within the trade.
Requirements include: minimum grade 12 or equivalent; Certificate of Electrical Apprenticeship and Electrical Trades Qualification Certificate; four years of experience which includes; Certificate of Electrical Apprenticeship and Electrical Trades Qualification Certificate and Electrical Field Safety Representative; Electrical Field Safety Representative designation (FSR-B); Arc Flash Awareness training; valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with air endorsement and must be fit to perform work in all weather conditions. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week).
