The District of Saanich (District) is looking for a qualified contractor for Construction to provide the like-for-like replacement of three rooftop packaged air handlers, and modernization of Controls systems throughout the facility. Optional Prices for other items are also detailed in the document package.

Provide new, complete, operational, and tested mechanical systems for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, controls, plumbing and fire protection systems, as described herein, indicated on the drawings and full conformance with applicable codes, standards and ordinances.  Include any and all temporary works necessary to allow the site to remain in operation.

Provide all labour, materials and products as specified, and as required to accomplish the work.

The Mechanical Contractor shall act as the Prime Contractor for this project, but shall coordinate work with other Contractors to minimize disruption to the site.

COVID-19 Protocols

All Bidders must conduct a COVID-19 Self-Assessment the day of the site visit and not attend if they are symptomatic or ill.

Bidders will wear a mask while inside buildings and during other times when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Bidders must contact Purchasing before the site visit if there are any reasons they cannot adhere to wearing a mask.

Bidders should bring all items necessary for participation with them to the site visit (e.g. mask, pen).

Bidders are expected to exercise proper hand hygiene (e.g. cough into sleeve), maintain physical distancing, and avoid any unnecessary contact with work surfaces.

Only one representative should attend the site visit from each potential company. Submissions will only be accepted from Bidders that attend and sign in at this mandatory site meeting.

Representatives will follow directions of Saanich staff regarding how tour will be conducted including route, group size, protocol for entering and exiting smaller areas, etc. Any behaviour deemed to be disrespectful or inappropriate may result in the representative being asked to leave the site meeting.
