Scope of Services: This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Corporation of the District of Saanich (the “District”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Police Vehicle Upfitting Services, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).
The District intends to select one (1) qualified proponent to provide equipment and upfitting services for the District of Saanich Police Department. Project may include, but not limited to all materials, equipment, labour and incidentals for the furnishing and delivery of newly acquired police vehicles. During the term of the Agreement, the supplier may provide services for retrofitting of existing police vehicles, on an as-and-when-required basis to the District.
Proponents shall be specialized in providing complete upfitting services (the “services”) and supplying after-market emergency equipment (the “products”) suited to outfit operational front-line police vehicles of the District.
At minimum, responsibilities of the successful vehicle upfitting supplier will include the following:
- Equip and upfit new and used police vehicles with new factory authorized materials and re-purpose used District of Saanich Police Department equipment when possible. Some equipment to be installed will be provided by the District.
- Recommend design, supply, install and repair a broad range of specialized police equipment on newly purchased and in-service vehicles.
- Be the single point of contact to vehicle customization. This may include design and application of police vehicle graphics and decals on occasion.
- Coordination of service, installation, acquisition and warranties of all third-party equipment.
- Maintain onsite and ability to offer a wide range of specialized equipment tailored to police vehicles.
- Transportation and delivery services of police vehicles (Car Jockey Service) to the District’s facility.
- Provide warranty and maintenance services on all aftermarket emergency equipment and for installation labour, at no cost to the District.
