Saanich's Recreation Centres are the designated primary emergency reception centres (shelters) in the event that residents need shelter, food, clothing, etc., following a major disaster.

• GR Pearkes Recreation Centre, 3100 Tillicum Road

Residents should monitor local radio stations for emergency public announcements stating where shelters are located.

Saanich Emergency Social Services volunteers will set up one or all of these centres, as needed, to help care for victims and to provide a registration and inquiry service.

The Saanich Emergency Program has "Emergency Use of Facility Agreements" in place with a variety of other organizations within our Community. These Secondary Facilities will be used to supplement our Primary Reception Centres in the event of a widespread emergency/disaster.
