Sunday Hikes

Discover the beauty of the Saanich parks right in your backyard.  These FREE guided hikes are open to adults of all ages. No registration is necessary, just drop in at the appropriate time and meeting place.  Although these hikes follow mainly chip trails and pavement, there may be some rough or steep sections, so please wear sturdy and supportive footwear and bring adequate drinking water.

Jan. 10          West Gordon Head Circle
Meet at Lambrick Park parking lot, beside baseball concession, off Feltham Rd.

Feb. 14          Lochside Trial to Martindale Flats
Meet at Lochside Park on Lochside Drive, north of Cordova Bay Road, past Mattick’s Farm.

March 14      Marigold/Panama Flat
Meet beside tennis courts at Hyacinth Park on Marigold, near Interurban.

April 11         Parks of Strawberry Vale & Knockan Hill
Meet at Strawberry Vale Community Centre on West Burnside. Park on the street.

May 16         McMinn Park – Kentwood – Outterbridge
Meet at McMinn Park beside tennis courts, off Maplegrove St., at Lochside Dr.

June 13        Blenkinsop Lake – Lower Mt. Doug
Meet at Lochside Trail parking lot on Lochside Trail near Don Mann Excavating, off Borden

Gentle Walk & Talk

Enjoy fresh air, beautiful scenery, a friendly chat and gentle exercise as we take different walks through Saanich parks and trails.  A great way to meet people.  Suitable for all walking abilities.  Wear suitable footwear.  No registration required.

Preschoolers in the Park
Fridays, 10:30am - 12:00pm

Play on our adventure playgrounds, enjoy organized circle time, and partake in a nature/urban walk through surrounding neighbourhoods. Bring a stroller or child carrier.
Parent participation is required. No registration required.
If raining, program is cancelled a half-hour before program start.
