Harvest Lane Park

The playground will be open to the public Friday December 16th!

Saanich Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that Phase 2 of the Harvest Lane Park concept plan is scheduled for the summer of 2011.  The federal Recreation Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program allowed us to complete 10 playground projects last year which has allowed us to expedite many of the projects we had in our long range plan.

Phase 1 (2008) of the project involved re-grading the entire park, installation of the trail portion of the San Juan Greenway and some tree planting. Phase 2 will complete the park and involves the installation of a small playground, park furniture, and a map sign. Additional tree planting will follow in the fall. Our Capital Construction schedule for this year has work set for August however this schedule is highly dependent on issues such as the weather and ground conditions, and may be subject to change.

The construction will involve some machinery and truck movement on neighbouring streets, particularly Harvest Lane. We thank those affected neighbours for their patience and understanding as we work to improve the park for the benefit of all. Onsite workers will assist the public around the construction areas during working hours, please use extra caution when using these areas.
