Marigold Park
Saanich Parks is pleased to advise you that the Sport Court Project, through the Recreation Infrastructure Canada (RInC) Grant, for Marigold Park is complete. The response has been very favourable. Also, through the Trees Canada Grant, volunteers from the TD Bank planted one hundred trees within the park to begin the reforestation of the natural park area. In June 2011 the playground was refurbished to include a tree house, climbing rocks and swings. Pathways were upgraded and additional park furniture was installed. Read More...

Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) Program
Saanich Parks has numerous facilities throughout our park system that meet the recreation/leisure needs within our 166 parks and over 750 Ha of parkland. However, much of the system is aging & in need of refurbishment. The focus of the grant was on our Playgrounds (54), Sport Courts (19), Sports fields (62) & Tennis Courts (35). Our staff conducted condition assessments in the spring of 2009 to identify the priorities for this $3M program. Read more...

Whitehead Park
If you’ve been by Whitehead Park lately you couldn’t help but notice a dramatic change. In addition to the new playground and related grading and trail work, Saanich Parks was able to undertake the ambitious project of removing the invasive golden willows in the park, adjacent to Tod Creek and the lake.
