Master Plan

The District is in the process of developing a new Master Plan for the Parks and Recreation Department. We would like to thank all of the people who participated in the stakeholder sessions and responded to either the random mail out/return or online survey. Your involvement in this process has been both valuable and important.

Open houses took place in the four recreation centres from April 4 - 7, 2011. Please click here to view the open house presentation. The draft plan was presented to the Parks and Recreation related Council Committees through September followed by open houses on September 29/11 at Saanich Commonwealth Place and October 4/11 at Gordon Head Recreation Centre to provide residents with an overview of the document. 

A final opinion survey was sent to stakeholders in December 2011 and was available online up to January 8, 2012.  The survey summarized the draft vision and mission and the key strategic objectives and associated initiatives and sought final comments and feedback on the draft document. A total of 375 responses were received from individuals and groups.

Prior to proceeding to Council's Committee of the Whole in June 2012, the final draft of the plan and the associated appendices will again be reviewed by Parks and Recreation related Council Committees. Please click on the document names beow to review the plan and appendices:
